June, on Flip The Music. The first solo release since the album.
Almost every song on this record was written after midnight, the hour when the noise drops out and the truth gets easier to say.
Debut album out now. After Midnight. 17 tracks. 6LACK. Shatta Wale. Headie One. Kojey Radical. Omar Sterling. Young Jonn. Sankofa. Kumasi to the world.
Sankofa is an Akan adinkra symbol: a bird turning its head to take an egg from its own back. Go back and retrieve what was left behind. It is the name of the song that opened this era, and the instruction the whole record follows.
Jackline Acheampong grew up in Kumasi, in Ghana's Ashanti Region, inside the sound of highlife. Her father is Nana Acheampong, one of the genre's defining voices, which meant the music was never an ambition to be explained to anyone at home. It was furniture. It was in the room.
She released her first single, “Love Is Pretty,” in 2019 and signed to Flip The Music the same year. In August 2020 the Seed EP arrived carrying “Forever,” a song that went to number one in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya and turned a student at KNUST into one of West Africa's most exportable voices. The 2021 remix with Omah Lay pushed it further, to platinum certification in South Africa.
Deals with Sony Music Entertainment Africa and RCA Records UK followed, then the My Diary EP in 2022, the same year she graduated from KNUST with a degree in International Business. She had built the thing most breakout artists never get: a second act.
After Midnight, released 29 August 2025, is the first full statement. Three years in the making, seventeen tracks, and a father sampled on his daughter's record. Sankofa, exactly as promised.
“A blend of softness and wildness.”

Sampled on “y2k luv”. Legacy handed forward, not borrowed.
Late-night reflections and quiet prayers next to sweeping love songs and full-volume party records. It moves between slow-burning ballads, highlife grooves, stripped-back soul and amapiano-leaning anthems, and it never sounds like it is switching costumes.
